The Delta Principle
Prescience is inspired from the Greek letter delta “Δ” that denotes change, and is committed to drive your personal improvement.
Prescience recognizes Delta as the foundation of your career journey, a tangible way to track your personal development, and a true measure of your success.
Prescience Methodology applies the Delta Principle to help you capture, improve, and monitor your performance against personal capability enhancement and interpersonal skills.
Management consultants use the term delta as a shorthand way of asking questions about how a particular metric has changed over time. For us, though, delta is something much more than that!
For each one of you, we research, analyze and monitor the rate of change (delta) in three specific domains of yours:
- your industry (market you will serve)
- your organization (school or future employer)
- yourself (career skills)
The ideal condition should always be: your career skills delta is greater than your employer’s delta which is, in turn, greater than your industry’s delta.
When this is true, your career acceleration exceeds that of your company as a whole; and your company’s acceleration exceeds that of the market it serves. This is an optimal set of circumstances in which to build a career. Hence, you are gaining within a company, that is gaining within its industry.
Our proposition is that the absolute level of change, improvement, and innovation doesn’t matter as much as the relative one. If all the deltas are in your favor, it makes sense to keep it that way, and make them even bigger! This causes your employer to leave competitors behind at an even faster rate. It also allows you to rise in your company at an even faster rate than average performers.
When you join Prescience, we measure and we monitor some important competencies of yours, in order for us to derive your “delta”. After completion of an Adventure, and for as long as you belong to and participate in our Deltonian Community, we continue to monitor your delta along with the delta of your organization, and the delta of the industry in which your organization belongs. The five categories of competencies that we focus on are:
- Character (Honesty, Integrity, Loyalty)
- Interpersonal Skills (Communication, Leadership, Inspiration, Motivation, Teamwork)
- Personal Capabilities (Problem Solving, Professionalism, Self-Development)
- Results Orientation (Goal-Setting, Initiatives-Taking, Results-Driven)
- Cultural Immersion and Competency
We prepare and deliver to you your Annual Delta Report along with the fundamental career drivers, the mindset, and behaviors you will need to succeed in this brave new world.
